Acne scarring — whether shallow post-inflammatory marks or deeper atrophic (depressed) scars — is one of the most requested and most effectively treated concerns with microneedling. The collagen remodeling triggered by each session gradually fills in depressed scars and smooths the uneven texture that acne leaves behind. A series of 3–6 sessions typically produces significant, visible improvement in acne scar depth and texture.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

Microneedling stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin — the two structural proteins responsible for firm, smooth, youthful-looking skin. What to Expect at Your Microneedling Appointment:

Consultation & Skin Assessment

Every microneedling treatment at JS Wellness begins with a skin assessment to evaluate your specific concerns, skin type, and treatment history. We'll discuss your goals and recommend the appropriate needle depth, number of sessions, and any complementary treatments or products that will enhance your results.

Numbing & Preparation

Before treatment begins, we apply a topical anesthetic cream to the treatment area and allow it to take full effect — typically 20–30 minutes. This ensures your comfort throughout the procedure. The Exceed device is also designed to minimize discomfort through its precise, controlled needle delivery. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild vibrating pressure — far more comfortable than they anticipated.

The Treatment

The microneedling treatment itself takes approximately 20–40 minutes depending on the area being treated. We make multiple passes over the skin with the Exceed device, adjusting depth as needed for different areas — typically deeper in thicker areas like the cheeks and more superficial around the delicate eye area. A professional serum is applied during treatment and immediately afterward to penetrate through the open micro-channels.

Immediately After Treatment

Your skin will appear pink to red — similar to a moderate sunburn — immediately after treatment. This is completely normal and reflects the healthy inflammatory response that drives collagen production. Most clients look noticeably better by the following day, with redness typically resolving within 24–48 hours. We provide aftercare products to be used exclusively for the first 24 hours post-treatment.

Results Timeline

Many clients notice an immediate improvement in skin radiance and hydration in the days following treatment as inflammation subsides and the skin's surface refreshes. The deeper collagen-building benefits continue to develop over 4–6 weeks after each session, with full results from a treatment series visible approximately 3 months after the final session.

For most concerns, a series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart produces the most optimal outcome. Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months help sustain and build on your results over time.
