The Alma Harmony's Q-switched laser technology breaks down tattoo ink into microscopic particles that the body's immune system then clears away naturally — gradually fading the tattoo over a series of sessions. Older tattoos, faded tattoos, and smaller pieces typically respond faster. Most colors fade significantly; results vary by ink color, depth, and age of tattoo.

Important preparation & aftercare notes
☀️ Avoid sun exposure 2–4 weeks before treatment — active tans significantly increase risk of side effects. Come in with your natural skin tone.
🪒 Shave laser hair removal areas 24 hours before — do not wax or pluck for 4–6 weeks before hair removal sessions.
🧴 SPF 30+ daily is mandatory during any pigmentation or skin rejuvenation series — and for 4+ weeks after your last session.
💊 Certain medications increase photosensitivity — let us know all medications and supplements at your consultation.
🤰 Not appropriate during pregnancy — laser treatments are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

We assess your Fitzpatrick skin type at consultation and select the appropriate settings and modality to minimize risk and maximize results for your specific tone.
How many sessions will I need? It depends on the treatment. Laser hair removal typically requires 6–8 sessions. Skin rejuvenation and pigmentation treatments often see great results in 3–5 sessions. Spider vein removal may require 1–3. Tattoo removal takes longer — typically 6–12 or more depending on the size, age, and colors in the tattoo. We'll give you a realistic estimate at your consultation based on your specific goals and skin.
Does it hurt? Most patients describe laser treatment as a warm snapping or rubber-band sensation — brief and well-tolerated. The Alma Harmony's integrated cooling system significantly reduces discomfort by cooling the skin surface during treatment. Hair removal on sensitive areas and tattoo removal may be more uncomfortable — we can discuss topical numbing for these areas if needed.
Can I combine laser with other treatments? Yes — and often the results are better when you do. Laser rejuvenation pairs beautifully with microneedling (laser from outside in, microneedling from inside out), medical-grade skincare regimens, and injectables like Sculptra and Botox.
